ARC France is the parent company, that makes Arcoroc (1963) and Arcopal (1958)In addition to these well-known brands, they also make Luminarc, Cristal d 'Arques (1968)and Chef en Sommelier.
Arcopal
Arcopal belongs too Arc France, or actually under Arc International. Arcopal is known for its milky-white opal glass. ARC stands for Christallerie d'Arques, which was conceived in 1825. The technique of opal production was only jet discovered in 1958. Arcopal stands for strong tableware, or in this case "as strong as an elephant". There was a logo of an elephant's foot on the package with "Extra Resistants" underneath.
